Baptism 1812-04-03 in , Urr, Kirkcudbright, Scotland.
 Death  5 August 1884 in Tighes Hill, New South Wales, Australia.
 
Occupation    Plasterer – possibly jobs included at home of his sister in law Elizabeth Strahan's parents- father Robert mother Elizabeth , 1841 in Gelston lodge Kelton parish. 
 
Departure     1854 in Liverpool. 
Residence     Stated on Ellen's immigration papers, 1855 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
             
Married Ellen Herbert 
Marriage      25 April 1847 in Wirral, Bebbington, Cheshire, England.
             
Samuel travelled to Australia without his family abt 1854 and arrived in Sydney on the ship Governor General from Melbourne 13/12/1854.
Ellen nee Herbert followed on the Ben Nevis with 4 children in 1856 including a one year
old Elizabeth.
 
Children  Ann Herbert, Thomas, James, Joseph Yeadon, Elizabeth, Isaac, William Samuel, Edward Herbert, Violette, Thomas Edward,Samuel Kissock, Richard Ernest.
