2022 is Scotland's Year of Stories
S.R.Crockett’s sketches and short stories first found fame in the late 1880s in a wide variety of magazines. Many were later published in collections and he continued writing the short story form until his death in 1914, by which time he also had over sixty published novels. ‘Scotland’s forgotten bestseller’ benefits from being read aloud and to mark Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022, members of The Galloway Raiders have taken the opportunity to record some of their favourite Crockett stories. These will be featured in the ‘Story Calendar’ each month during 2022. We hope you will enjoy listening to them, and that it may spark an interest in exploring Crockett’s work further.
