Slow Reading
The Slow Reading project (in association with www.unco.scot) is an opportunity to read in the style of the 1890s.
In those days many people read works by Crockett in serial form, over many months. By posting chapters online on a weekly basis we encourage you to read at a slower pace, to reflect on the chapters that you read, and to discover a whole new insight into narrative form and content. Reading in this way allows you to experience something of the context and material culture properties of classic Scots works. (note these links take you off-site)
Men of the Moss Hags first serialised in 'Good Words', 1895
The Lilac Sunbonnet first serialised in 'The Christian Leader' 1894
Ione March (June to December) first serialised (as The Woman of Fortune) in 'Woman at Home' 1899
