The Lilac Sunbonnet 125

The Lilac Sunbonnet was controversial in its day. It sold 10,000 copies on the day of publication. It was at the centre of a huge (and unwarranted) plagiarism attack, and Crockett scholar Dr I.M.Donaldson saw it as anticipating D.H.Lawrence in some aspects.
The Lilac Sunbonnet was serialised from January to October in 'The Christian Leader' magazine before its publication by T.Fisher Unwin on October 2nd 1894. If you want to follow the story from the beginning, why not get along to the FREE ONLINE SERIALISATION at www.unco.scot Every week on a Friday you can get an updated chapter or chapters. You'll be replicating the way that the story was first consumed 125 years ago. Of course, if you can't wait, you can also buy the paperback version from Unco at the Crockett Collection.
You might like to put The Lilac Sunbonnet in context by reading it alongside J.M.Barrie's The Little Minister also being serialised free this year by Unco. (here)
